Featured Individual: Lecture by Nicanor Perlas on Integral Consciousness

Watch a one-hour lecture by Nicanor Perlas – recipient of the Right Livelihood Award (Alternative Nobel Prize) for his advocacy work on globalisation and sustainable development, and the UN Environmental Program’s Global 500 Award. This lecture was given recently at the International Youth Initiative Program (YIP) in Sweden.

As YIP states: “On the eve of the birth of the Occupy Wall Street movement and the discovery of a particle traveling faster than light, Nicanor Perlas holds this mind-blowing lecture about the kind of consciousness needed to stand strong in today’s world.”

More on Nicanor Perlas: Nicanor Perlas is President of the Philippines Center for Alternative Development Initiatives (CADI), and the winner of the Right Livelihood Award (Alternative Nobel Prize) for his advocacy work on globalisation and sustainable development. He has also been awarded the UN Environmental Program’s Global 500 Award, The Outstanding Filipino (TOFIL) Award, as well as the Manuel L. Quezon Award for Exemplary Governance. He has authored seven books, including “Shaping Globalization: Civil Society, Cultural Power and Threefolding,” as well as numerous articles.

More recently Nicanor has been working with MISSION (Movement of Imaginals for Sustainable Societies through Initiatives, Organizing and Networking), and has written a new book, MISSION POSSIBLE! Sow Courage; Harvest a New World.

From the MISSION website: “The book is a tell-all story of an emerging movement called MISSION and how it is making strides in transforming the way we think about what it truly means to change the world. It illustrates how personal mastery can empower individuals to act from their highest potential and creativity when helping to rebuild societies.

“Bestselling author Neale Donald Walsch, in his latest book, “Storm Before The Calm” cited Perlas and MISSION as doing cutting edge societal threefolding work that is essential to the “creation of humanity’s New Cultural Story”. With this citation, MISSION is introduced worldwide to over a million people who are expected to read Walsch’s book.

“A digital version of  MISSION POSSIBLE! that can be purchased or accessed though the Internet, is also in the making.

“Founded in 2010, MISSION is a cultural, spiritual, scientific movement of individuals in civil society, government, and business. On the basis of profound inner transformation, MISSION aims to create a better country, a better world. Nicanor Perlas and a group of trained facilitators conduct Mission’s Workshop Courage in key areas of the Philippines as well as in the United States and Europe. Perlas was recently in Sweden carrying on the work of MISSION in workshops  with  young people from 18 countries.  MISSION has active members and network nodes in Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Dumaguete, General Santos and Baguio as well as emergent nodes in other provinces and a fledgling international node in Germany…”
